Moving according to God's plan...

So, particulary because of how long Aaron's job search has proven to be, I had no plan of posting, literally, the very next day with news of a resolution. However, as of this evening around 8pm, Aaron was offered a package from a potential employer that we simply cannot refuse. Taking this offer will put us into a great position to not only buy (maybe even build) our first house, but also pay off our school debts much quicker than we'd anticipated. Also, it allows me the freedom to teach some lessons from either our home or another nearby facility that will give us extra income, not necessary income, which is a lot more stable and a lot less stressful to know.
As I'm sure many of you are wondering WHERE this job is...
(drum roll please), ironically, we are headed back to where we are both from---Roseburg OR! Yep, the very little "bumpkin town" as we like to call it from which we both swore we wouldn't end up back in for a long time. Funny how God provides such humor and twist to our lives, isn't it?! Really though, as much as it will be a challenge to adjust to very little availability of activities and such, we're both beginning to realize...especially now that we have Grayson...that our family is what's most important and far more eternal than the big malls and array of restaurants. Of course, for those of you we will be "leaving behind"...we plan to call you for visits when we need to escape the small-town atmosphere for a bit of sanity, haha, so keep your guestrooms prepared, tee hee. :)
Yes, this is a leap of faith, but we both believe it is an act of God...and really...how can you argue with Him, right?!

Life as we currently know it...

After receiving multiple invitations to other friends & family's blog sites, we decided it was time to create our own.
So, here it goes...

Aaron and I are quickly approaching our 5 year wedding anniversary, which still just blows me away! As most of you know, at present, we're living in Beaverton, Oregon---we've been here since July 2004, which also blows me away. Upon moving here, I received my first teaching job and Aaron began a three-year doctoral program in the field of Physical Therapy at Pacific University--which he is only 40 days from finishing, whoopee!!!
Although it is the middle of a school year, and under normal circumstances I'd be in the middle of finishing out my 55+ hour weeks, I am currently on long-term leave after having our first baby, a son, Grayson Milo this past December. Perhaps the biggest news relating to this new "life-style" we've grown so fondly accustomed to, is my very recent decision to decline my district's offer for a contract renewal. After much debate and prayer, I will not be returning to Rosemont Ridge Middle School and will instead continue my job as a full-time mommy to Grayson. Also aiding this decision, are the very recent opportunities and doors that God is opening for Aaron's first job of his career. Although we have yet to solidify EXACTLY where Aaron will be taking a job, all the opportunities he is pursuing are outside of the Portland area. In fact, we know we are headed South---the question yet to be answered however is, how FAR...
Obviously, I will post an updated blog when we know more.

Whatever happens, wherever we end up...we know one thing...
God has written the next chapter already and has plans for the lives we may touch and the lives that may touch US in all that lies ahead. Although to some, the uncertainty may sound scary, we are excited to watch Him unfold all the "tomorrows" He has in store and trust that they are all part of His perfect plan for us!
